Groningen isotope separator

The Groningen isotope separator is a 50 kV accelerator which produces stable and radioactive ion beams of most elements with very high purity. It has been used extensively for the modification of surface layers of materials, and for the study of hyperfine interactions in metals. Recently a second beamline has become operational, which is used for soft-landing deposition of particular isotopes on surfaces.
